Electric insect traps and zappers by Mo-El work completely without chemical agents. In the following paragraphs we will introduce our Insectivoro and Moon product lines. What makes those appliances so special is a contraption that instead of simply killing off insects lets you choose to let them out again in your garden or on your windowsill. Beneficial insects such as bees, bugs and bumblebees should always be released because they are very important for our entire ecosystem. Even spiders, wasps, ants and butterflies feed on pests and can support pollination.
Insectivoro traps
Insectivoro insect traps are as simple as they are genius. The integrated UV-A tube imitates sunlight and attracts insects within a range of up to 180 m2. Once the insects get close to the trap the airflow generated by the fan sucks them into the integrated catch tank. Inside this tray insects dehydrate due to lack of water (or they are freed by you by the end of the day). Even if the impeller is switched off the insects cannot escape thanks to a patented closure mechanism.
The Insectivoro range differs mostly in equipment, speed levels and revolutions per minute. The construction, size and weight is similar for all three models.

The Sterilizer model is equipped with an additional germicidal UV-C tube. This model is recommended for areas that need a high level of hygiene and cleanliness. Keep in mind that insects get in contact with a number of unsanitary things. Hygienic areas include kitchens, counters with foodstuffs as well as hotel and restaurant industry. Most zappers with electric killing grid are not suitable for hotels and restaurants since debris of killed insects is scattered by the force of the grid.
The UV-A tubes have rated service life of ca. 2,000 hours. Assuming the appliance is used for 5 and a half hours every day, you get about one year of use. Twelve months also the recommended time for replacing the tube. The tube continues to emit a visible light after this period however the efficiency of the UV light attracting insects decreases.

Insect traps and zappers using UV-A tubes attract insects such as flies. The light of the Cri-Cri Moon is emitted at a 45° angle to increase catch results of the Asian tiger mosquito. This species is native to tropical climates however due to increasing trade and travel all around the globe tiger mosquitos were able to reach other continents as well including North America, Australia and Europe. Since all mosquitos prefer a hot and humid climate, they often lay eggs in bathrooms or kitchens. Electric zappers are not always the best choice for these rooms since the motor might take damage from excessive humidity. The Cri-Cri Moon is designed and rated with a special IPX4 protection against splashing water. It can be used in utility rooms, conservatories and damp rooms mentioned above.
The circular UV-A tube has a service life of about 2000 hours. We offer spare tubes in our shop in case you need a replacement. Insect traps with ultraviolet light tubes must not be used outdoors since they also attract beneficial insects like bees. If your Cri-Cri Moon has caught any bees, bumblebees or small butterflies, release them in your garden or outside the building. The catch tank is designed with the same patented and secure system as the Insectivoro range. Removing the tank is poses no danger to you.
The "Turbine" model by Mo-El is a large insect trap to be used on farms and livestock breeding. Just like the smaller live traps mentioned above, the Turbine works completely without chemicals. The delivery inclues a bag that holds up to 25 kg of insects. The mounting material is also included in the box.
